Redemption

While Joseph is being exalted into the court of Egyptian royalty, his family back in Canaan are suffering from famine. There is only one way they can be redeemed - they must be forgiven. Suffering is a huge theme in the Joseph story that connects him and the reader to the coming suffering servant who forgives the sins of the world.
